WELCOME

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 2017 Southern African Shark & Ray Symposium (SASRS) and the South African Shark Conservancy, we welcome you to the 4th SASRS website.

The SASRS will be held from September 10th-13th, 2017 in the seaside town of Hermanus, South Africa. We invite academics and students from Africa – and overseas groups who have previously conducted research on Chondrichthyans in Africa – to attend this exciting gathering of likeminded colleagues from around the continent.

The 4th SASRS will consist of keynote lectures, research poster sessions, networking opportunities, workshops, and public outreach events. In addition to the Symposium programme, we will provide Delegates with numerous discounted tour options to ensure you make the most of your stay in the beautiful Western Cape region. We cordially invite you to participate in this exciting event as Presenters, Prospective students, Sponsors and/or Exhibitors
